Dr Kate Granger, a consultant geriatrician from Leeds, started the hellomynameis campaign in 2013 after her own experience as a cancer patient. She noticed how often the doctors and nurses treating her never actually introduced themselves, and started the hashtag #hellomynameis with her husband Chris Pointon to ask something simple of healthcare staff: say who you are before anything else happens.

The campaign spread far beyond what either of them expected; the hashtag has since passed over a billion impressions on Twitter, and it's been formally adopted across hospitals and care settings throughout the UK and beyond. Kate passed away in 2016, cared for in her final months at St Gemma's Hospice in Leeds. Chris has continued the campaign in her name ever since, and funds raised through it go directly to St Gemma's.

10% of the profits earned from our hellomynameis lanyards go straight to the charity.

Hello My Name Is Lanyards, Card Holders & Name Badges

We stock a range of hellomynameis products, including lanyards, card holders and name badges. A lanyard puts the message somewhere it's seen the moment staff walk into a room. A magnetic name badge does the same job and it's useful for staff whose uniform can't be punctured, or who'd rather avoid a pin catching on clothing during physical care. Card holders let you display an ID card alongside the message, so the visible commitment to introducing yourself sits right next to a patient's actual confirmation of who you are.

Please note: Because every product here carries the NHS logo, orders must be placed using an NHS email address, with delivery to a registered NHS address.
