The IDP Smart 31/51 Printer Cleaning Kit, part 659909 at £34.95, is a long sleeve cleaning card kit of 10 cleaning cards. It fits the Smart 21, 31 and 51.

A card printer cleaning kit clears out the dust, card debris and adhesive residue that build up inside every machine as it prints. Cleaning cards run through the card path in place of a normal card and lift residue off the rollers as they go. The swabs in the 30/50 kit handle the parts you reach by hand, while the 31/51 kit gives you twice as many cards.

A printer that has not been cleaned starts throwing out streaks, patchy colour and rejected cards. The printhead itself wears faster when it drags across grit. Regular cleaning is the cheapest maintenance you can do.
