Zebra P520i Ribbons

Zebra P520i ribbons load into a P520i card printer to put images, text and protective coatings onto plastic ID cards. Each ribbon holds a set number of print panels, which decides the look of the card and how many you print per roll. The colour ribbons work on the YMC principle, laying down yellow, magenta and cyan for a full-colour photo image, with a black panel for text and, on one ribbon, a clear overlay panel.

The YMCK colour ribbon for the P520i is part number 800015-445. It covers standard full-colour cards with a black panel for sharp text. The YMCKK ribbon, 800015-480, adds a second black panel, so the front prints in full colour and the reverse in black. Neither the YMCK nor the YMCKK ribbon carries an overlay. The YMCKOK ribbon, 800015-448, brings an overlay between the two blacks, giving the colour front a protective clear layer while the reverse still prints in black.

For monochrome printing on the P520i, the KdO black dye ribbon with overlay is 800015-450 and the KrO black resin ribbon with overlay is 800015-460. Resin gives a harder, more durable mark than dye and a cleaner edge on barcodes. Pick YMCK for single-sided full-colour staff and membership cards. YMCKK suits a job where the reverse only needs black text. YMCKOK covers a colour front that needs an overlay and a printed back.
