Datacard CR805 Printer Ribbons

A Datacard CR805 re-transfer printer needs two consumables to produce a card: the Datacard CMYKP colour printer ribbon (part number 513382-201) and the CR805 re-transfer film (part number 513402-001), which carries the image onto the card. The CR805 prints in two stages, so both parts work together on every card you run.

The re-transfer process prints your artwork onto the clear film first, then bonds that film to the card surface under heat. That is what lets the CR805 print right to the edge and handle uneven or contactless card surfaces cleanly, which is why the ribbon and the film are sold as two separate items.

The CMYKP ribbon lays down the full-colour image on the film. The film is the layer that actually meets the CR80 card, the credit card size at 85.6 x 54mm that most ID and access cards use. The re-transfer film also protects the printed image once it has been bonded down. A CR805 cannot print without both, so keep ribbon and film in stock.
