Infineon SLE Cards

Infineon SLE contact smart cards are programmable memory chip cards for access control, cashless payment, membership and secure ID schemes. A contact smart card is read through the gold contact plate on the front, so it suits any system where the card is inserted into a reader slot. Plastic ID stocks the Infineon SLE 5542 and the Infineon SLE 5528, both supplied in packs of 100. The difference between the chips is memory. The SLE 5542 carries 256 bytes of EEPROM, which is plenty for an ID number, a balance or a small set of access flags. The SLE 5528 carries one kilobyte, for schemes that need to store more on the card itself. Both use protected memory with a programmable security code. They also speak different synchronous protocols, so your reader and software will expect one or the other. Both cards are standard white PVC in the CR80 credit card size, 85.6 x 54mm, so they run through the same desktop card printers and reader slots as the rest of your stock. The blank PVC surface takes direct-to-card printing well, so you can add names, photos, logos and numbering to match the rest of your identification setup.
