The Cartadis Copicode IP is the entry-level unit and features a simple two-line display. It is manufacturer-independent and can be transferred between devices. It works by locking the copier or printer until a user has authenticated. Then their copier usage is tracked in real-time, providing quick access to print release and account selection if features easy network connectivity with an inbuilt dual Ethernet hub and RS232 connector for connecting authentication card readers. The supported authentication methods are: username and password; card authentication - Copicode can support an external RSR 232 card reader to read magnetic stripe, HID prox, Mifare and many other technologies and can also be used with an optional PIN with card authentication for extra security. You also have the ability for users to self-associate cards with their accounts on first use, with no need for separate accounts, and you can also use existing PaperCut accounts imported from your network directory. The Copicode provides print release directly from a single touch, ensuring the user is there to collect their job. Using the PaperCut software, consolidated management and reporting formats are readily available at the click of a button for all copies and prints across your entire fleet, reports by the device (printers & copiers) by user shared account (client, department, faculty) by location or by date and time period. Users are provided with real-time feedback on account balance and cost as the job proceeds, different types of copying can be charged at different rates, and usage is reported live in the PaperCut log.
