This is a Hello My Name Is 15mm dye sublimation printed lanyard carrying the NHS Wales and #Hello My Name Is logos side by side, fitted with a metal dog clip and a health and safety breakaway that releases cleanly if it's ever caught or pulled, then clips straight back together.

The Campaign Behind It

Dr Kate Granger, a consultant geriatrician from Leeds, started #hellomynameis in 2013 while being treated for cancer, after noticing how rarely the staff caring for her actually introduced themselves. With her husband Chris Pointon, she turned that one small frustration into a campaign that's since passed over a billion impressions on social media and been adopted by hospitals and care settings across the UK, Wales included. Kate passed away in 2016, and Chris has carried the campaign forward ever since. 10% of profits from every #hellomynameis product we sell goes directly to support St Gemma's Hospice in Leeds, where Kate was cared for.

Alongside this lanyard, we stock #hellomynameis card holders and magnetic name badges too. A card holder displays an ID card right next to the message, so a patient sees confirmation of who's treating them alongside the introduction itself. A magnetic name badge does the same job without a pin, which is useful for staff whose uniform can't be punctured, or who'd rather not risk a pin catching on clothing during hands-on care.
