The DTC4250e prints a full-colour YMCKO card in 16 seconds. For operations that produce employee badges or student cards in batches, that translates to roughly 225 cards per hour. Monochrome runs are considerably faster at 6 seconds per card, which suits visitor passes, membership cards and any job where a single-colour design gets the work done.

Print resolution sits at 300 dpi with continuous tone output, so photos, logos and barcode graphics all come out cleanly at card size. The Color Assist tool inside FARGO Workbench handles spot-colour matching, which is useful when a company logo needs to print accurately against a specific brand colour. The DTC4250e is also fully compatible with Asure ID card personalisation software for badge design, database management and credential production.

The printer includes a SmartScreen graphical display that walks users through setup and alerts them to printer status, so staff members who don’t use it every day can operate it without extensive training. Encoding options cover the main smart card and magnetic stripe technologies: ISO magnetic stripe, HID Prox, iCLASS, iCLASS SE and MIFARE are all supported through optional factory-ordered or field-upgradeable modules. The optional iCLASS SE encoder writes organisational and personnel data directly onto the card during the print run. AES-256 encryption protects data in transit over the network, and password protection on the printer means only authorised operators can print or encode.
