FARGO C30 / DTC300 Ribbons

The FARGO C30 and DTC300 take the same card printer ribbons: 44201 for black only, 44200 for full colour and 44210 for full colour with printing on the back of the card as well.

Each ribbon carries the ink your printer transfers onto blank cards, so the panels on the roll decide what you can print. The Standard Premium Black Monochrome Ribbon, part 44201, handles single-colour text, barcodes and logos and runs to around 1000 prints. The YMCKO colour ribbon, part 44200, lays down yellow, magenta and cyan for the image, then black for sharp text and a clear overlay for protection, giving roughly 250 prints per roll. The YMCKOK ribbon, part 44210, adds a second black panel for text or a barcode on the reverse. It manages around 200 prints. YMCKO and YMCKOK are simply the panel names printed in sequence, the everyday shorthand for what the printer lays down pass by pass.

Which one you need comes down to what is on the card. Monochrome suits high-volume text-only staff badges where cost per card matters most, while the YMCKO roll fits photo ID, visitor badges and colour-coded access passes.
