A Datacard ribbon is the print consumable that puts text, images and colour onto your ID cards, matched to Datacard and Entrust card printers. The range covers monochrome ribbons in a single colour, full-colour YMCKT ribbons that print photos and graphics in one pass and re-transfer film for the CR805. Which Datacard printer ribbon you need comes down to what you print, your volume and which printer you have.
Black monochrome ribbons such as the Datacard KT 534000-005 and the Entrust KT 525100-014 print 1,000 images per roll, with a 750-image KTT option. Coloured monochrome ribbons run to royal blue, red, matte silver, matte gold, metallic silver and metallic gold, all rated at 1,500 images. A scratch-off grey conceals printed information. A premium high opacity white prints onto dark card stock.
A YMCKT ribbon is the full-colour choice for photo ID and logos, listed at 125, 250 and 500 images, with a 650-image short-panel version (Entrust 525100-002) for higher volumes. The YMCK 534000-008 prints full colour without the T panel. Cards printed on both sides need a ribbon carrying a second black panel, which is what the YMCKT-KT and YMCK-K ribbons are for. YMCKF-KT and YMCKL-KT add a further panel again for designs that include a security feature. We also stock the CMYKP colour ribbon 513382-201.
Several ribbons are tied to one printer family: 534100-001-R004 for the SD160, 534700-001-R010 for the SD range and the YMCK-K 552854-510 for the SP75. Tell us your printer model and the Plastic ID team will confirm the fit before you order. If you cannot see the Datacard printer supplies you need, get in touch and we will source them.
