Bamboo is one of the earth’s most sustainable natural resources, absorbing card dioxide and releasing 35% more oxygen into the atmosphere than an equivalent stand of hardwood trees.  It also not only grows incredibly quickly, requiring no chemicals and pesticides and little water, but as it’s a cellulose fibre, it breaks down easily too.  The harvesting process leaves the roots in place, preventing soil erosion and providing nutrients for the next crop.
